      Our GX 460 is simply perfect. I read review after review telling us how out dated the SUV is, it doesn't have apple play or android music, it doesn't get great gas mileage, its expensive and it's just old. Then very quietly as if it were an afterthought.... oh yeah, it is completely reliable and will last forever. They compare it to unibody SUVs when talking about gas mileage and are cheaper. But they cant pull. They will tell you that two other luxury SUVs will pull more but they cost 25 to 40k more. But in doing so they wont say that the best of those only have 75% reliability rating (except the RX but it only can tow 3500lbs). We recently drove this car on 3100 mile trip through the Rockies, the Arizona desert and back to the fields of Kansas. I ride the gas pretty hard and still got a combined 18.8 mpg. I would highly recommend this SUV.…

      The GX is a solid, comfortable, reliable truck. Traded in my Honda Pilot and there really is no comparison. Strong smooth V8. Quiet cabin. Adequate tech and safety features. Nice appearance and touch points. Great for my family of 5. Nothing handles better off road or in the snow in this category. Buy used, they run forever. Only drawback is driver/passenger storage is minimal and gas mileage is at the bottom of it class. But hey, its an old school V8, what you lose in gas you gain in smooth power and towing capability.…

    • 114K Miles and still no issues

      I don't want to jinx myself, but I am at 114K and it still feels like a new car...I won't count some dings, scraps, etc. that were caused by me or someone else. Just a note--I do not baby my car but I am diligent about my synthetic oil changes and K&M air filters. Also, I have replaced normal maintenance items: the battery, wipers, tires and the brakes. No repairs. It is almost 10 years old and with a few minor exceptions (see below), it is as good as new: Here is what I have so far-- --Headlights are getting that frost look to them (need to get that treatment at my next oil change) --The "chrome" outside door handles are starting to crack (saw a replacement kit on-line) --The windshield sprayer on the passenger side is clogged or not working -- this really is an issue and I will have to get this repaired ------The spoiler above the back window has really faded out at first I thought it was dust and they forgot to clean it-- not sure if I would bother having it painted -------Every now and then the radio does something weird but always comes back-- not worried about it -------The insert on the cup holder has broken - not sure if I should count this as me damaging it, but seems like it could have been a litter better made, not worried about it enough to look to replace it. The team that made this car, should be proud. Yes, it is a little expensive but it has held up and the overall cost of ownership is low. I feel safe and am confident in it's reliability. I plan to keep it at least until 150K miles, maybe more. Here are the downsides (which I knew going in)-- the back gate opens to the side versus up-- hasn't been a problem for me, but trips up the bag boys when they are helping me with my groceries; It is heavy and takes a lot to get going and have to fully apply your brake to stop; engine has lots of torque-when you sit at a light you have to keep your foot on the brake or put it in neutral or it will roll forward on you; gas mileage is not great-- usually around 17-18MPG I would buy it again for sure-- my dream car is the land cruiser version but not interested in that price tag.…
